Women’s Pistol Training for Absolute Beginners

  • Demonstration and practice of the four rules of gun safety, with strict attention to muzzle awareness and trigger discipline. Intro to the basic parts of a pistol and their functions, including red dot sight (RDS) zeroing.

  • Technique and training in safely handling a gun, including loading magazines, loading and unloading a pistol, reloads, clearing malfunctions, ready positions, as well as protocol and safety on the range.

  • Demonstration and practice of the fundamentals of pistol shooting, focused on stance, grip, draw, target focused aiming whether running irons or optic, trigger press and follow through.

  • Run live fire drills to develop gun handling and shooting skills, focused on accuracy and repeatability at 5 to 12 yds, including marksmanship, draw stroke, simple target transitions and moving with the gun.

FAQs

How long is the class?

Five hours. First hour dedicated to classroom training, remainder of day spent on the range. Class begins at 10:00AM and concludes at 3:00PM, with a 15-minute lunch break.

Do I need my own pistol?

Yes, you must have your own semi-auto pistol to attend class. I’m available to help you select a pistol. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Should I bring ammo?

Yes, you will need a minimum of 500 rounds of ammunition. More is better. Contact me for recommendations to purchase bulk ammunition.

What gear do I need?

You’ll need electronic ear and eye protection, 3 magazines, as well as a speed loader (I recommend Uplula). Bring a baseball cap, water and some snacks.

Where are classes held?

Training is conducted at the Lebanon County Police Combat Pistol Club,1855 Russell Road, Lebanon, PA. Upon arrival your gun should be holstered or unloaded and cased.

What is the cost?

This 5-hour intensive pistol training for Absolute Beginners is $300. This includes range fee. Students are responsible for bringing 500 rounds of ammunition.
